In the 5.16.0 release, we introduced Multi-Select and Bulk Editing, added collapsible mobile submenus, improved AI Agent efficiency, and fixed numerous bugs.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

Multi-Select and Bulk Editing

You can now select individual elements with Cmd/Ctrl-click or select a range with Shift-click, then edit the selection from one settings panel. Update shared design settings across several modules without opening each one separately.

Multi-selection also works in the Layers panel, where you can drag and drop selected elements together. The right-click menu supports bulk actions such as duplicating, deleting, copying, and moving your selection.

The Inspector supports multiple selected elements, and you can scope an AI Agent request to that same selection.

Collapsible Mobile Menus

Added a Collapsible Mobile Menu option to the Menu module. Nested submenus can now expand and collapse on mobile without custom code.

Builder Improvements

  • Added search and missing shortcuts to the keyboard shortcuts panel.
  • Button and checkbox options now distinguish inherited values in gray from explicitly set values in blue.
  • Improved the responsiveness of Title and Body text options.

AI Agents

Reduced token usage for page-wide text readability changes and applying the same preset to multiple elements.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

We also fixed Text module alignment after Divi 4 migration and WooCommerce popularity sorting in Post Filter product loops. For a complete list of changes, please check the changelog.

In the 5.12.0 release, we introduced AI Agents, improved Theme Builder archives and WooCommerce checkout, and fixed numerous bugs.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

AI Agents

AI Agents introduce a new way to work in Divi using natural language. Describe what you want to build or change, and an agent can create layouts, edit module content and design settings, and help with repetitive tasks inside the builder.

Agents can also work with pages, menus, and Theme Builder templates, and use screenshots or websites as design references.

Theme Builder

  • Fixed Blog and Portfolio modules showing posts from other categories or tags when displaying the current archive.
  • Fixed Blog pagination on category archives when category-based permalinks are enabled.
  • Fixed deleted Theme Builder canvases reappearing and the Default Website Template duplicating after reloading an unsaved layout.

WooCommerce

  • Fixed checkout timing out or showing a payment method error on the order confirmation page.
  • Fixed product variation images not switching correctly in responsive Theme Builder layouts.

Presets and Performance

  • Module presets now apply their interactions and custom CSS classes on the frontend.
  • Fixed saving a page or opening the Visual Builder clearing the entire page cache on Cloudways and similar hosts.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

We also fixed many bugs, for a complete list of changes, please check the changelog.

In the Release 5.11.1 release, we added backdrop filter controls, improved WordPress 7.1 block editor compatibility, fixed custom attributes behavior for structured data, and fixed numerous bugs.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

Filters

  • Added backdrop blur, invert, and sepia controls to Divi 5 Filters options with matching builder and frontend CSS output.

Custom CSS Hover Selectors for Third-Party Modules

We added a tutorial for placing :hover on nested elements in Advanced → Custom CSS → Module Elements — for example when hover should apply to an inner or target element instead of the module order class.

See Hover Selectors.

Custom Attributes and Boolean HTML Attributes

Custom attributes now normalize boolean attributes such as itemscope to truthy presence values. They render correctly for structured data on both React and non-React paths, while empty non-boolean attributes continue to be filtered out.

What this means for third-party developers:

  • Boolean attributes like itemscope, itemtype, async, and defer output as presence attributes (for example itemscope) instead of being dropped or rendered with invalid empty values.
  • Use Custom Attributes in module settings or module.json as before; no API changes are required — existing saved attributes with boolean semantics now render as expected on the frontend and in the Visual Builder.

Third Party Support

  • Fixed Visual Builder button design defaults so module decoration values like text color apply even when button icon defaults are not set. Discord post link: Button component defaults.

WordPress Compatibility

  • Fixed Divi block editor styles and assets loading in WordPress 7.1's iframed editor.
  • Fixed Divi Placeholder block styling in WordPress 7.1's iframed block editor.
  • Fixed missing Use The Divi Builder and Return To Default Editor buttons in the WordPress 7.1 block editor header when switching between Divi and the default editor, including when re-editing published Gutenberg content. Fixed a console error on WordPress 7.0 when switching back to the Divi Builder from the default editor.
  • Fixed Divi Layout block editor styling and library modal display in WordPress 7.1's iframed block editor.

Plugin Compatibility

  • Fixed WooCommerce product bulk edit timeouts caused by repeated Divi CSS cache clearing on every product save.

In the Release 5.11.0 release, we added four new modules — Imagely Gallery, Gravity Forms, Payment Button, and Charts — fixed Theme Builder Shop page rendering with WooCommerce 11.0, improved Extend Attributes behavior for global layouts, and fixed numerous bugs.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

New Modules

  • Added an Imagely Gallery module with Visual Builder gallery selection and preview, full design controls, and Dynamic Assets-aware NextGEN resource loading.
  • Added a native Divi 5 Gravity Forms module with Visual Builder preview, settings-driven form selection, and design controls for form output, validation, and paging controls.
  • Added a Payment Button module with payment-specific settings while preserving Button design and behavior parity.
  • Added a Charts module with table/CSV data input, multiple chart types, and comprehensive chart element styling controls.

Extend Attributes and Global Layouts

Attributes copied or extended from a page content element now propagate correctly to Global Header and Footer elements and to locked elements in Theme Builder layouts.

What this means for third-party developers:

  • Extend Attributes and Copy/Paste Attributes now apply across global and locked layout boundaries when the source element lives in page content.
  • Custom modules that rely on attribute extension for design parity should verify behavior when users extend attributes into global headers, footers, or locked Theme Builder areas.

WooCommerce

  • Fixed Theme Builder Shop page templates not rendering on the frontend with WooCommerce 11.0.

Backwards Compatibility

  • Fixed Global Link Variables rejecting SMS links that include a percent-encoded message body in the URL.
  • Added CSS classes for the flex alignItems property on Column, Section, Row, and Group modules, enabling custom CSS to target flex alignment state on layout containers.

Note for developers: If your extension or custom CSS targets flex alignment on layout wrappers, inspect the updated module markup — alignment is now reflected via wrapper classes in addition to inline layout styles.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

We also fixed many bugs, for a complete list of changes, please check the changelog.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

Visual Builder

Fixed the desktop breakpoint opening zoomed in when the widescreen breakpoint was enabled. The desktop view now opens at 100% zoom.

Text Module

Fixed bulleted and numbered list items in rich text fields not inheriting body text styles, so list text follows the surrounding text design.

In the Release 5.10 release, we added Post Filter modules for Loop Builder, introduced new dynamic assets filters for extension authors, improved below-the-fold loading performance, and fixed numerous bugs.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

New Modules

  • Added the Post Filter and Post Filter Item modules, giving site visitors a configurable filter form that refines Divi Loop Builder results in real time through bookmarkable URL parameters.

Skipping Dynamic Assets Detection on Specific Requests

Third-party plugins and modules can now skip Divi 5 dynamic assets detection on specific frontend requests — useful when detection work is unnecessary or when scanning large layouts causes memory pressure.

What changed:

  • Added the divi_frontend_assets_dynamic_assets_utils_should_run_detection filter. Return false to skip early content parsing, render_block_data / pre_do_shortcode_tag logging, and late detection for that request.
  • Detection skips do not by themselves disable generation or enqueue. Use divi_frontend_assets_dynamic_assets_utils_should_generate_dynamic_assets (the Divi 5 replacement for Divi 4's et_should_generate_dynamic_assets) when you need to turn off generation for a request.
  • When generation is off, Divi now stops cached feature hydration, frontend detection, and related script enqueue while keeping the rendered page on the static CSS path.
  • Dynamic assets generation-gate evaluation is memoized per request so render-time detection callbacks reuse one filtered decision.

Example — skip detection on a custom endpoint:

add_filter(
'divi_frontend_assets_dynamic_assets_utils_should_run_detection',
function ( $should_run_detection ) {
if ( is_page( 'my-lightweight-landing' ) ) {
return false;
}

return $should_run_detection;
}
);

Example — disable generation on a custom endpoint:

add_filter(
'divi_frontend_assets_dynamic_assets_utils_should_generate_dynamic_assets',
function ( $should_generate_assets ) {
if ( is_page( 'my-static-export-preview' ) ) {
return false;
}

return $should_generate_assets;
}
);

D4 to Divi 5 Conversion for Late-Registered Third-Party Modules

Divi 5 conversion now rebuilds its module discovery map when additional blocks register after the first conversion pass. Third-party modules that register late (for example after another plugin finishes bootstrapping) convert to native divi/* blocks instead of falling back to divi/shortcode-module.

What this means for third-party developers:

  • Ensure your module registers its block type (with d4Shortcode metadata) before conversion runs when possible.
  • If your module registers after Divi has already built the conversion map, Release 5.10 detects the new registration and refreshes the map automatically — no workaround shortcode-module pass is required.

Performance Improvements

  • Added lazy loading and deferral for below-the-fold videos, sliders, and maps so they load when scrolled near the viewport instead of on initial page load.
  • Fixed a PHP memory exhaustion error that could occur on large Divi 5 pages when dynamic assets scanned module attributes during rendering.
  • Dynamic assets generation-gate evaluation is now memoized for the request, reducing repeated filter evaluation during block and shortcode rendering.

Third Party Support

  • Fixed an issue where selecting an image on a divi/upload field with syncImageData could reset other fields in the same module content group. Discord post link: divi/upload syncImageData group-items reset.
  • Fixed an issue where installing @divi/field-library from npm could fail because the published package referenced a non-existent @types/codemirror version.

Backwards Compatibility

  • Fixed Gallery and other modules failing D4 to Divi 5 migration when layouts contained legacy {font}_all_caps attributes such as caption_all_caps.
  • Fixed missing modules when importing Divi 4 layouts that contain global module instances with nested content.
  • Fixed migrated text headings losing module-level regular weight when presets set bold.

Plugin Compatibility

  • Fixed a fatal error that occurred when activating the Mercado Pago payments for WooCommerce plugin with Divi 5.
  • Fixed variation swatches showing the same images for every product when wishlist or compare plugins were active on Theme Builder product category templates.
  • Fixed Blog Module crashing in the Visual Builder when the fitVids plugin was unavailable.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

We also fixed many bugs, for a complete list of changes, please check the changelog.

In the Release 5.9.0 release, we added the Grid Editor for advanced grid layouts, improved variable font weight performance, and fixed numerous bugs.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

Grid Editor

  • Added a new Grid Editor for visually creating advanced grid layouts, including number variables in the grid offset editor and start/end/span settings per offset rule.
  • Grid offset data now uses a canonical offsetValues map (with migrations from legacy offsetRule / offsetValue shapes in content and presets).

Performance Improvements

  • Improved performance of variable font weight inheritance.

Backwards Compatibility

  • Fixed CTA modules showing backward compatibility mode after Divi 4 to Divi 5 migration when AnalyticsWP tracking was enabled in Divi 4.
  • Fixed frontend module order classes not starting at zero after layout migration.

WordPress Compatibility

  • Fixed Visual Builder REST responses exposing Instagram tokens and accepting invalid Post Navigation post contexts.

Plugin Compatibility

  • Fixed ACF Color Picker dynamic content not displaying the correct text and decoration colors in the Visual Builder, so on-canvas styles now match the resolved colors shown on the live site.

WooCommerce

  • WooCommerce checkout pages built with Divi checkout modules now render one consistent checkout form instead of multiple competing checkout forms.

Note for developers customizing checkout layouts: WooCommerce checkout modules now use a single real form.checkout owner. Checkout Payment Info continues to render the checkout form, while Checkout Billing, Checkout Shipping, Checkout Additional Info, and Checkout Order Details now render div.et_pb_wc_checkout_section wrappers instead. Custom CSS or scripts that targeted form.checkout inside those non-payment modules should retarget the module wrapper or .et_pb_wc_checkout_section.

In the Release 5.8.1 release, we added flexible fonts support, drop cap styling, expanded body text styling options, and fixed numerous bugs.

For complete list of changes, please check our changelogs.

Typography and Fonts

  • Added more Google fonts to the default web fonts list.
  • Added support for flexible fonts, including variable font weight and many additional font settings.
  • Added a drop cap tab and new body text styling options (text direction, columns, stroke position, capitalization, hyphenation, and wrapping).

Upload Field Attachment Metadata for Third-Party Developers

Third-party developers using <UploadContainer /> or divi/upload fields can now read WordPress attachment metadata at media selection time — without extra REST calls or attachment_url_to_postid() workarounds. Origin request: Divi-Beta #37.

What changed:

  • Upload field onChange callbacks now include an optional attachmentMetadata object (id, src, alt, titleText, caption, description, width, height) when a user picks an image from the media library.
  • Added a public getAttachmentMetadata() helper (and getEmptyAttachmentMetadata()) exported from @divi/field-library.
  • syncImageData on upload fields now supports optional caption and description keys for persisting additional metadata into module attributes.

What this means for third-party developers:

  • Read attachment metadata directly from upload onChange handlers; existing inputValue behavior is unchanged (URL string, sync object, or attachment ID mode).
  • Map a WpAttachment to metadata manually when needed via getAttachmentMetadata(attachment, sizeValue).
  • Persist multiple image fields (src, id, alt, titleText, caption, description) by declaring matching innerContent subNames and syncImageData in module.json. See the Image module upload example in Module metadata — attributes.

Example:

<Upload
name="img-src"
onChange={({ inputValue, attachmentMetadata }) => {
// inputValue is a URL string (or sync object when syncImageData is configured).
// attachmentMetadata contains id, src, alt, titleText, caption, description, width, height.
}}
value="https://example.com/image.png"
dataType="image"
/>
import { getAttachmentMetadata } from '@divi/field-library';

const metadata = getAttachmentMetadata(attachment, sizeValue);

attachmentMetadata is omitted for manual text input, background image fields (isBackgroundType), and non-image data types.

Discord post link: UploadContainer And Image Metadata.

Performance Improvements

  • The font select menu is now lazy loaded, improving performance when selecting fonts.

Third Party Support

  • Fixed CSS numeric and similar module settings fields losing their value when edited in the main settings modal by correctly handling field onChange callbacks that pass a plain value instead of an event-shaped object.

Backwards Compatibility

  • Fixed Divi 4 to Divi 5 migration for mixed Gutenberg and Divi Layout content by improving layout block detection and preserving non-layout Gutenberg blocks with native serialization.
  • Fixed accordion modules showing backward compatibility mode after D5 migration when Rank Math FAQ Schema Markup was enabled in Divi 4.
  • Fixed a Blog migration issue where the D4 "Show Content" option could revert to excerpt behavior after conversion to Divi 5.
  • Fixed a migration regression where column widths could become larger after update due to gutter class and dynamic asset desynchronization.
  • Fixed Block Row layouts breaking on the frontend after updating Divi when Website Gutter Width was customized.

WordPress Compatibility

  • Fixed Query Monitor reporting missing dependencies for wp-block-library on Theme Builder pages with header or footer overrides when Defer Block CSS is enabled.

Plugin Compatibility

  • Fixed a fatal error when using Event Tickets Move Attendees and other admin iframe flows that pass a null hook suffix to admin_enqueue_scripts.
  • Fixed Brevo/Sendinblue Email Optin custom fields not always visible in the Visual Builder, including field dropdown and canvas visibility after toggling "Use Custom Fields".
  • Fixed the Contact Form module failing to submit or show a success message when All-In-One SEO was active.

Bug Fixes and Other Improvements

We also fixed many bugs, for a complete list of changes, please check the changelog.
